Last Saturday was Twilight in Athens.  Its a multi day musical, cycling and all around fun time downtown.  Last year we went in the evening and watched only the men’s pro race, so we thought that an earlier insertion into the day this year would be better .  One of our friends was going to be racing in the amateur class at the Greenway Course, so we headed down to Jittery Joe’s at a relatively  early (for us) time of 9:30 AM.  We shot several of the qualifying heats and our friend was able to advance to the main amateur race later than evening where he placed 5th after being forced to start from the back of the field.  I think I came away with some strong work; and the strong feeling that my low speed panning skills needed honing.  Aside from finding out a triple homicide had taken place nearby and that the killer was loose, the day was great fun.  There were no internal combustion engines used, so the images went to my 2009 Athens Twilight Criterium Flickr set instead of my motorsports gallery.
